Current Works

This series consists of six portraits of three generations of my paternal and maternal female relatives. A self-portrait was the central axis to the series which branched out to include my mother, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers. Each photo reference used to create the graphite portrait was taken while the subject was in her 20s. The embroidery that is incorporated derives from wallpaper patterns that were popular at the time the subjects were photographed. The series is simultaneously an indepth exploration of female identity, "women's craft" and my personal family history.
